Shashank Singh also shared his views on praise and trolls on social media in an exclusive conversation with IANS.

PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan may be out of the field for a week or 10 days due to a shoulder injury. He again missed PBKS's Saturday night match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) as Sam Curran stepped in to take over the captaincy duties.

Commenting on this, Shashank said, “Shikhar's injury is an important part of this match. But this is also an opportunity for other players.'No one can match the experience that Shikhar has, but in his absence someone from the team will take his place.

He said, “There are young players in the team who want to take advantage of the opportunities.

PBKS is currently placed seventh on the points table with a loss in four matches.

Responding to this, Shashank said, "The momentum of the tournament seems to be changing in the second half. We have eight matches left and we are confident that we will win.We lost our matches on the last ball or the second-last ball.”

Talking further about dealing with pressure, considering the nature of the game given the praise and trolls on social media after the match, the 32-year-old cricketer said, “Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant etc. Have shared the dressing room with.” So I talk to them about how they handle pressure. “Sometimes we do yoga or distance ourselves from social media for a day. We cannot stay away from social media forever, but we can disconnect ourselves from it for some time and come back when you are in a good place.Fans both praise and troll. So whether it is good or bad, do not take it to heart. Professional cricketers have learned over time to maintain a balance between all such things.

When asked who was his idol in cricket, Shashank said, “I used to watch Sachi Tendulkar bat and when white-ball cricket progressed so much, I started enjoying watching AB de Villiers. Apart from batting, it was interesting to see his mental ability, how he was able to understand the bowler and how he played the shots. It seemed like AB was a different player in the white-ball circuit.
