Mumbai, Veteran actor-MP Shatrughan Sinha expressed his gratitude to well-wishers for celebrating his daughter Sonakshi Sinha's wedding with fellow actor Zaheer Iqbal and called it the "wedding of the century".
The couple, who have been dating for seven years, got married in a private civil wedding ceremony at Sonakshi's residence on Sunday, which was followed by a reception for industry colleagues and friends.
Shatrughan Sinha shared a series of unseen pictures and videos from the wedding on his official X page on Wednesday evening.
He wrote, "Truly overwhelmed by the well wishes, it really means a lot, there are no words to express our happiness and appreciation. #SinhaFamily."
"With a sense of gratitude we would like to thank everyone for celebrating with us our special day, which appears to be the 'wedding of the century', for your warmth, love, congratulatory messages for our darling daughter #SonakshiSinha. “With #ZaheerIqbal begins a new chapter in the beautiful journey of his life,” the actor-TMC MP from Asansol said in another post.
For the ceremony, Sonakshi upcycled her mother Poonam Sinha's ivory wedding sari and Zaheer wore a matching embroidered kurta-pajama.
Although there were rumors that Shatrughan Sinha was unhappy with the wedding, he put these rumors to rest when he happily posed for pictures with the groom and his family.
There were also reports that Sonakshi's brothers Luv and Kush Sinha did not attend the ceremony but both the brothers dismissed such reports.
