The three-day surfing competition will see all the top ranked surfers from India participate. The Government of Karnataka has extended its support to this event for the fifth consecutive time. The competition will consist of four categories: Men's Open, Women's Open, Groms (U-16) Boys, and Groms (U-16) Girls.

IOS 2024 will be the second stop of the National Championship series of the calendar year, after the International Surfing Festival Kerala 2024 held at the beautiful rock beach of Varkala in March.

There will be intense rivalries between surfers from the East and West coasts at IOS, as these championships will carry important ranking points that will determine the surfers' standings at the end of the season.“We are delighted to extend our support to the Surfing Swami Foundation and Mantra Surf Club – the organizers of the Indian Open O Surfing under the aegis of the Indian Surfing Federation. Ramesh Budihal, Harish M, Srikanth D, and Manikandan M will be keeping an eye on the surfers in the men's category who had an exceptional performance at the recent National Championships held in Kerala. In the women's category, Kamal Murthy, Srishti Selvam and Sandhya Arun are among the participants competing for the top honours. All eyes will be on Kishore Kumar, who has surprised everyone with his recent performance.
