Bengaluru: As suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna landed at the Bengaluru airport early Friday, there was a crowd of policewomen led by female IPS officers waiting to execute the arrest warrant against him in sexual harassment cases. ,

Three cases have been registered against Prajwal after videos of him allegedly sexually exploiting several women were leaked.

The 33-year-old grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, who is seeking re-election as an NDA candidate from Hassan, fled the country on April 27 and returned on Friday morning.

SIT sources said that immediately after deboarding the flight from Munich, Germany to Bangor, he was welcomed by women in khaki uniform.

During the process of executing the arrest warrant, he was accompanied by police women, led by two IPS officers, Suman D Pennekar and Seem Latkar. After this the Hassan MP was taken in a jeep which had only female police. They took him to the CID office.

“It was a conscious call to send all-women officers to arrest Prajwal, thereby driving home the message that the JD(S) leader misused his seat and power as an MP with the same women. has the power to arrest him through all legal proceedings." A SIT source said.

There was also a symbolic message for the victims that female officers were not afraid of anyone, the source said.
