Surat (Gujarat) [India], May 22: Surat hosted the fourth edition of Do-Da Yarn and Zari Textile Expo-2024 organized by Secure Embroidery Thread and Jar Association (SETJA) on May 19 and 20. Participation of more than 10 exhibitors from various states across India including Punjab, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu. These exhibitors showcased a diverse range of imitation zari and yarn products highlighting the innovation and craftsmanship in the industry.

Textiles and Railways Minister Darshanaben Jardosh inaugurated the expo stressing the need to establish Zari in the international market. He stressed the importance of exploring new uses of Zari as raw material and assured the industry stakeholders of the government's support in resolving development issues.Zardosh's vision is to expand the market and make India's zari a globally recognized product.

On the second day, renowned saint and corporate mentor Dr. Gyanvatsal Swami graced the event with his presence. He stressed the power of unity in business, saying, "Unity is prosperity." He encouraged industry players to work together to achieve success on a global scale, and highlighted that integrity and unity are important tools for business success.

The event was attended by several other dignitaries, including Mukesh Dalal, Member of Parliament from Surat; Dakhesh Mavani, Mayor of Surat; C.K. Maniya, President of Rapier Jacquard Weavers Association; Dr. Haresh Balar, Vice President, Rapier Jacquard Weavers Association; Ashok Jirawala of FOGWA; FOSTA President Kailash Hakim; and officials of the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries.The expo attracted approximately 37,000 buyers, indicating significant interest in the displayed zari and yarn products. Among the special attractions of the exhibition were innovative products like Babbu Yarn Zari developed by Mahendra Zadafia, Founder of ADLON Industries. After extensive research, this product made from bamboo comes out as a remarkable innovation of India. Another highlight was the launch of Multi Zari by K-Tex Zari, which added a unique category to the multi zari segment.

SETJA President Deepakbhai Kukadiya highlighted the association's commitment towards business growth and global reach of its products.The imitation zari industry is an important sector in Surat, with an annual market size of approximately Rs. 1,500 crores.
