Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Shiv Sena (UBT) protested in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city against the suspension of opposition leader Ambadas Danve from the Legislative Council for five days for allegedly using abusive language in the House.

A protest was held at Kranti Chowk under the leadership of party official Raju Vaidya.

Danve was suspended from the House for five days on Tuesday for using abusive language against BJP MLA Prasad Lad during a discussion in the council on Monday evening. Lad had sought to bring a resolution in the Lok Sabha condemning Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's 'not a Hindu' remark, to which the Sena (UBT) leader had reacted sharply.

He said, "The suspension of Ambadas Danve is an abuse of majority in the House. No action has been taken against Prasad Lad in this case. That is why we have agitated here."

He said, "Danave raises the issues of common people in the Legislative Council. Therefore, he has been suspended to suppress his voice."

Another party leader Nandkumar Ghodele said, "The ruling party is adopting such a strategy (of suspension) in view of the Lok Sabha election results. But the Hindutva ideology is not their propriety."
