A 17-year-old girl, who was going to school on her scooter, was hit by a truck in Noida, Greater Noida on Wednesday, resulting in her death. Police gave this information.

He told that this accident happened in the morning near NTPC Dadri of Jarcha police station area.

A police spokesperson said, "The girl was on her scooter and was going to school. She was crossing the road when a truck hit her vehicle, resulting in her death."

The truck driver was taken into custody and further legal proceedings were initiated in the matter, the officer said.

There was an uproar at the spot after an argument between the local people and the police regarding action against the truck driver after the accident.

A police officer was also caught on camera allegedly threatening the locals, who appeared aggressive.

Additional DCP (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar Sharma said that the police has taken cognizance of the incident and the matter is being investigated.

It is illegal to drive a motorized vehicle in India before the age of 18.
