"Fly Me to the Moon" tells a love story between Kelly and Cole, while also addressing the ups and downs of the Apollo missions to the Moon.

Speaking about Channing's character, Johansson shared, "I don't think Cole really understands what Kelly has to offer the project."

The actress said that Tatum's character is a very practical person and he sees her as an obstacle.

“How to get this project funded, what kind of support it needs, how to get it to play along – it's not in his vocabulary at all. He doesn't understand her purpose there at all. He's that secret weapon. Which he doesn't know he needs to win."

Tatum shared that his character is more concerned with what's real and that he doesn't have time in his life for public relations silliness.

"That's the last thing he thought he'd have to deal with," Tatum said.

Tatum said: "Kelly comes in like a hurricane and, in her mind, she ruins everything and creates more problems than solutions – when in reality, she's the pivot of the whole thing."

"Fly Me to the Moon" is a set set against the high-risk backdrop of NASA's historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Kelly Jones (Johansson), brought in to fix NASA's public image, wreaks havoc on Launch Director Cole Davis's (Tatum) already difficult job.

The film also stars Nick Dillenberg, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Christian Zuber, Donald Ellis Watkins, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson.
