Samsung Heavy Industries said in a regulatory filing that the vessels will be handed over to an unnamed shipping company by August 2028.

The shipbuilder has received orders worth $4.9 billion so far this year to build 22 ships, accounting for 51 percent of the $9.7 billion target for 2024, Yonhap news agency reported.

The ships include 19 LNG carriers, two very large ammonia carriers and one shuttle tanker.

Samsung Heavy Industries is the shipbuilding arm of South Korea's top family-controlled conglomerate, Samsung Group, whose flagship unit is Samsung Electronics Co.
