VMP New Delhi [India], May 18: The CBSE board exam results were declared a few days ago and Arunachal Pradesh has seen a comparatively significant improvement in the number of children passing the board exams in classes 10 and 12 this year. . As per the performance in the last academic year, the state's class 10 pass percentage has increased from 39.71 per cent in 2023 to 49.75 per cent in 2024, showing an increase of 10 per cent. Similarly, the performance in Class XII has increased from 61.17 percent to 73.14 percent, which is a commendable increase of 12 percent. It is the result of extensive collaboration between Reach to Teac Foundation and the Department of Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. To launch and implement Comprehensive School Transformation Program (CSTP) covering classes I to XII in all government schools of the State CSTP has a specific Test and Beyond toolkit covering children from classes IX to XII.The focus of the toolkit is on improving performance in PIG exams through a combination of creating thorough textbooks, learning outcome-focused methods, and comprehensive teacher support. The toolkit includes rewriting textbooks with content creation and experiential activity-based elements. These experiential elements are sequenced for learning as per the outcomes defined by NCERT. To ensure that activities are rolled out in a standardized way across the state to achieve learning outcomes, the Reach to Teach Foundation has created detailed teacher handbooks to help teachers do this and student worksheets to build uniform understanding. Strategies have been devised in extensive consultation with teachers to provide emotional support to children as they prepare for the examinations.To strengthen this end-to-end solution and ensure that the desired results are achieved, focused training of teachers and system officers associated with the implementation of CSTP has been undertaken. Reach to Teach Foundation trained 824 teachers from secondary and senior secondary government schools in the state to enable a strong support system for children to prepare for their board examinations. On our request, the State graciously agreed to set up District Task Forces which were training to review and monitor the board examination initiative at the district level. A total of 88 officers were sensitized and trained on essential reporting tools as well as their roles and responsibilities.
