Team 45 Ro, the Indian captain's official media team, shared a photo of Rohit standing at the doorstep of his house on Instagram, captioned 'home sweet home'. The ground was also decorated with flower petals to welcome the World Cup-winning captain home.

The captain also took to his personal Instagram account and dedicated his World Cup victory to the entire nation.

On Thursday morning, the T20 World Cup-winning Indian team landed in the national capital Delhi and received a warm welcome from fans who were eagerly waiting to see their favorite heroes and the trophy.

The event also featured the players taking a victory lap to the tunes of the country's national song, 'Vande Mataram'.

The flight was organized by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah and departed on July 2 from hurricane-hit Barbados before arriving in Delhi around 6am. from Thursday. Also on the flight were board officials and members of the tournament's media contingent.
