Last week, pictures of Kapoor and Pallavi dressed as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita were leaked on social media. In the pictures, Kapoor was seen in a dhoti with a heavy shawl and jewellery, while Pallavi was seen wearing a saree with jewelery covering her head.According to Rimple, the team worked with Tiwari, known for "Dangal" and "Chhichhore", to create the right look for the film.

"We saw a lot of murals. No one has seen Lord Ram or Goddess Sita, so we sat down and thought about what we wanted to see and present to the world. We take decisions collectively," he said.The works of renowned 19th-century Indian artist Raja Ravi Varma, known for his high paintings and portraits of Hindu deities, also served as a source of inspiration for the costumes in "Ramayana."

“There are a lot of paintings by Raja Ravi Varma that we were looking at in terms of colors and silhouettes. We have created a beautiful look with the help of very old weavers from Banaras.

“We have developed some authentic clothes, which are completely Indian, made in India and have revived some very old techniques which took us a really long time to create. We have created something which the designer As in, we thought this would be what you lords and ladies would wear.We have tried our best,” said Rimple, who has single-handedly created designs with Harpreet for films like “Padmaavat”, “Housefull 4” and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”.

When asked about Kapoor and Pallavi's reaction to their looks in the film, the designer said that the actors were happy with the costumes.

He said, "He was happy and felt fit in his character. Ranbir was a little more expressive."

Rimple and Harpreet's latest project is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first web series "Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar", which started streaming on Netflix from May 1.
