In Antalya (Turkey), Dhiraj Bommadevara secured two bronzes, one individual and another in a recurve mixed team event with Bhajan Kaur, as India ended its campaign with four medals in Stage 3 of the Archery World Cup, here the Sunday.

India could have added another, but Ankita Bhakat, seeking her first World Cup medal, narrowly lost her semi-final to eventual gold medalist and top seed Yang Xiaolei of China. She ultimately ended up losing her bronze medal match as well.

The third-seeded mixed team, formed by Dhiraj and Bhajan, had an excellent performance to beat Mexico and take bronze.

Trailing 0-2 after conceding the first set, the third-seeded mixed team of Dhiraj and Bhajan produced a flawless round to level them and seal an impressive 5-3 (35-38, 40-39, 38- 37, 38- 38) defeat their Mexican opponents Alejandra Valencia and Matías Grande in the tiebreaker for bronze.

Dhiraj, who qualified as third seed, then added another in the singles section when he defeated ninth seed Marco Nespoli of Italy 7-3 (28-27, 29-28, 27-28, 28-28, 30-29) .

It was also his second World Cup bronze, as he won his first medal in Stage 1 of the event at this same venue last year.

Dhiraj earlier lost in the semi-final against former world No. 3 Olympic team medalist Kim Woojin of South Korea.

The military man managed to hold off the South Korean heavyweight twice before falling 2-6 (29-29, 27-30, 29-29, 27-29) in a high-intensity semi-final clash.

Ankita, who went all the way after her humble 45th place in the rankings, fought hard to overcome a 0-2 deficit and make it 2-2, but was unable to take advantage of the decisive moments to lose the next two sets narrowly and cap a 2-6 (26-30, 28-27, 26-27, 27-28) loss to Yang.

In the bronze medal match, Ankita lost to world number 3, Alejandra Valencia, 3-7 (27-29, 26-27, 29-27, 29-29, 27-29).

On Saturday, India had bagged a gold and a silver in the composite section.

The Indian women's composite team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur bagged the gold, while Priyansh bagged the silver.
