Dahod is a seat reserved for Scheduled Tribes, from where BJP's Jaswant Singh Bhabhor is contesting for the third consecutive time. Prabha Taviad is a candidate from Congress.

Authorities took immediate action after a video surfaced from Santrampur assembly constituency, which is part of Dahod Lok Sabha seat.

Vijay Bhabhor, who has been identified as the son of sitting BJP MP Jaswantsin Bhabhor, is said to have broadcast live from a polling booth in Santrampu taluka of Mahisagar district through his Instagram account. Although the video was later removed, it had already been shared widely, sparking outrage. In the video, Vijay can be heard claiming ownership of the voting machine in Gujarati, saying, "The machine belongs to my father".

In response to the incident, the Central Election Commission has mandated a fair and transparent voting process for the upcoming repolling date.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident, and show cause notices have been issued to the polling staff on duty, including the presiding officer, assistant presiding officer and two polling officers.

Congress party spokesperson Manish Doshi expressed concern and claimed that this was an attempt by the BJP to capture the booth. The party demanded repoll not only at the affected booth but also at other booths where similar violations were suspected.
