Bengaluru, Royal Challengers Bangalore have contributed to the effort to solve the water crisis that has been plaguing Bengaluru for the past few months, and have rejuvenated three lakes as part of the IPL franchise's Go Gre initiative.

As per India Cares Foundation report, RCB has completed the renovation of Itthagalpura Lake and Sadenahalli Lake, while adding civic amenities to the Kannur Lake.

RCB had last October launched the Lake Reclamation Work Project as part of its ES commitment, focusing on developing water bodies in SAI areas as they do not have access to Cauvery water and are completely Depend on ground water and surface water.

According to reports, more than 1.20 lakh tonnes of silt and sand has been removed from Ittagalpura Lake and Sadenahalli Lake.

The soil has been used to build dams and paths across lakes and 5 farmers have also taken to using it as topsoil for their fields.

As a result, the water holding capacity of these lakes has increased by 1 acre.

Around Kannur Lake, ethno-medicinal plant parks, bamboo parks, butterfly parks have been created with the aim of improving biodiversity.
