Mumbai: Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das on Thursday asked all stakeholders in the financial system to give governance the "topmost priority".

In the introduction to the central bank's half-yearly Financial Stability Report, Das said the Indian economy is displaying strength and resilience with strong macroeconomic fundamentals and buffers amid global headwinds.

Das said, RBI's stress tests show that even in severe stress scenarios, the buffers of banks and non-banks will remain above the minimum regulatory capital level.

He said the RBI keeps an eye on emerging risks from cyber threats, climate change and global contagion and asks all stakeholders to focus on governance.

“Governance must be given top priority as strong governance is at the core of the resilience of stakeholders in the financial system,” he said.
