According to a since-deleted screenshot of the text exchange posted by West's Rich the Kid: "I'm retiring from professional music."

The musician indicated that the reason behind the decision was that he was "not sure what else to do" as far as music was concerned, reports people.com.

However, Rich the Kid replied: "Retire? Why? How? The people need you, the music you and Ty have made is the biggest ticket to culture to date in 2024. Me and V@ And let's do it again, the kids need you... Maybe it's time to rest but it's not right to retire."

Shortly after posting the screenshot-text, Rich the Kid announced on X that he is releasing new music with West on his upcoming album, Life's a Gamble. He confirmed the project's release date, writing, "We're dropping Friday 7/19."

According to the album's tracklist, there is an upcoming collaboration with West titled 'Plain Jane', which also features the already released single 'Gimme A Second 2' featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Peso Pluma.

The 42-year-old also features with Playboi Carti and Ty Dolla $ign on the track 'Carnival', which was featured on his collaborative Vultures 1 album with West, which was released in February. It reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 the following month.

West's retirement announcement comes just weeks after he and Ty Dolla $ign planned to release their sequel project, 'Vultures 2'.

According to an Instagram post shared by Ty Dolla $ign, the duo are set to bring their Vulture listening experience to Korea on Friday, August 23.

However, it is unclear whether they will execute their follow-up project, which still has no confirmed release date.
