“This year the special thing was that my son is going on summer vacation with his mother to the United States for a month and I didn't have any important job. So I thought it was a good fit for this time in my life. The second reason is that I desperately needed to detox from screens because everything is just screens. Entertainment and communication are on the screen. I was tired of scrolling on social media,” Ranvir said.
The actor found it healthy to take a break (screen time) for a month and a half.
"So basically this is the mindset I'm going in with. I hope I get something from Bigg Boss, not just Bigg Boss gets something from me," he said.
With Anil Kapoor taking over hosting duties, Ranvir hopes the veteran star will "cut him some slack".
“If Salman had been there, I would have been happy as I have worked with him before. I think that could have worked in my favor as a contestant, but Anil sir is a legend, a charming person and brings great energy, vitality and a certain youth.”
“I am very excited to interact with him. I hope he cuts me some slack,” he added.
