Villupuram (Tamil Nadu) [India], Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder Ramadoss on Thursday confidently asserted that AIADMK's traditional votes will help them defeat their "common enemy" Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), in the upcoming Vikravandi election poll. , which is scheduled for July 10.

Ramadoss, speaking to ANI, also said that the PMK is working on tactics to form its government in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.

As the main opposition party in the state, AIADMK has boycotted the Vikravandi bypoll citing "abuse of power by the ruling government" and "irregularities" and as a result, the situation on the ground in Vikravandi has become two corner fights. between DMK, PMK and Naam Tamilar Katchi. (NTK) about the race.

As part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the PMK is approaching Vikravandi by poll seeking the votes of the Vanniyar caste, which has a key stake in the region.

Meanwhile, with the AIADMK boycotting the elections, both the PMK and the NTK are eyeing the traditional AIADMK votes.

NTK chief Senthamizhan Seeman recently supported the AIADMK in its hunger strike against the DMK government over the Kallakurichi liquor tragedy. His action is allegedly being seen as an attempt to win AIADMK votes in the Vikravandi bypoll.

However, PMK founder Ramadoss is also confident that AIADMK voters will support his party to defeat their "common enemy" the DMK.

"It is true that the conduct of the bypoll will not be honest. But PMK has the strength to oppose the dishonesty that they (DMK) are showing. Similarly, the first enemy of AIADMK is DMK, so they also think that DMK should not "We will not win, so PMK's victory is assured," Ramadoss told ANI.

He also added, "DMK is only spreading information that AIADMK votes will not be transferred to PMK. But AIADMK voters are confident that they will vote for PMK to defeat DMK in this bypoll."

Responding to the question about ideological differences between BJP and PMK on the NEET issue, Ramadoss said, "Most people will not be aware of the ideological differences and what NEET is and all that. People just wanted an exam that is an obstacle for their children. "Only a few people are clear that NEETs should be eliminated and all of these are expectations."

Ramadoss also says that the PMK is working on tactics to form a government in the upcoming Assembly elections in 2026. This bypoll will help them gain momentum.

He further added, "The illicit liquor tragedy in Kallakurichi happened very close to Vikravandi. So this would have an impact on the elections. People in Vikravandi are talking about it."

Vikravandi's bypoll was necessitated by the demise of former DMK MLA N Pugazhendhi on April 6.
