Arun Govil played the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana', which became extremely popular when it aired in 1987.

Deepika Chikhalia and Sunil Lahiri, famous for playing Sita and Lakshma respectively in the iconic TV series, will be promoting Arun Govil in Meerut on Monday evening.

They will hold a road show in support of Govil from Nandan Cinema to Saraswati Temple.

Chikhaliya and Lahri along with other characters of the show have confirmed that they will seek votes for Govil.

“Our best wishes are with him. We have a very old association and recently we were together during the consecration of Ram temple in January. We will campaign for Govil, who is our good friend,” Chikhalia told reporters in Mumbai. Some other actors of the serial may also join Arun Govil's campaign.

The remaining two main characters of the serial
