New Delhi, Defense Nikhil Khadse is the youngest minister at the age of 37 while Jitan Ram Manjhi at 79 is the oldest minister to take oath.

Khadse, MP from Maharashtra, took oath as Minister of State (MoS) in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new council of ministers. He won from Raver Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra.

Manjhi (79) took oath as a Union Cabinet minister in the Modi 3.0 government.

Manjhi has been the 23rd Chief Minister of Bihar and is the founding president of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM). Earlier, he had served as the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Minister in Nitish Kumar's cabinet. In the 2024 general elections, he won from Gaya seat.

Some other young ministers include Chirag Paswan and Jayant Chaudhary.

PM Modi took oath along with his 71 ministers on Sunday as the new coalition government was formed after two full terms in which the BJP had a majority on its own.
