Sources said that this unfortunate decision motivated by profit led people into the trap of death.

According to sources, due to the Rs 9 scheme, a huge crowd was seen in GameZone. The entry fee was reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 99 to attract more holiday and weekend visitors. As a result, about 300 people were gathered in the GameZone when the fire broke out.

It has emerged that the GameZone management had not obtained the Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC). To avoid municipal approval, the GameZone was set up in a shed, and the three-storey facility was opened only after receiving the ride certificate. The officers responsible for issuing these certificates are now absconding.

It is being told that the fire started due to spark from welding on the ladder. With only stairs available, people were trapped on the second and third floors, leading to a large number of casualties. The fire spread rapidly due to the composition of the materials used in the GameZone.

The GameZone has rubber and resin floors, thermocol sheet partitions, over a thousand tires surrounding the car area, creating a highly flammable environment. Additionally, 1500 liters of diesel kept at the spot further fueled the fire, causing it to become widespread and out of control, sources said.
