Jaipur, Banswara MP Rajkumar Roat and his supporters on Saturday protested against Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar's suggestion of DNA test to verify whether the tribal leader is the "son of a Hindu".

With their blood samples in hand, Bharat Adivasi Party leaders along with their supporters started marching towards Dilawar's residence to protest, but were stopped by the police.

After this he reached Amar Jawan Jyoti here where protesters including many political leaders like Congress MLA from Gangapur Ramkesh Meena raised slogans against Dilawar.

Roat insisted that if his blood sample was not taken there, he would give it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament.

The MP told reporters, "This matter is not going to be suppressed here. This matter will be raised in the Assembly. I will also raise this issue with Modi ji in the Parliament."

He said, "If the sample is not taken here, then blood sample will be given to PM Modi for DNA test in Parliament."

Police pacified the protesters by collecting blood samples and later returned them.

On June 22, a war of words broke out between Dilawar and the newly elected MP from Banswara after the minister suggested a DNA test to verify whether the tribal leader is a Hindu or not.

Roat recently said that he hails from a tribal community and follows a belief system separate from organized religions, including Hinduism.

Responding to this, Dilwar gave a controversial statement saying that 'If the BAP leader does not consider himself a Hindu then a DNA test should be conducted to confirm whether he is the son of a Hindu or not.'
