Jaipur: A section officer of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education was suspended on charges of indiscipline after he came to the office wearing shorts and allegedly misbehaved with the staff when some staff objected to his attire.

Board secretary Kailash Chandra Sharma said Rakesh Kuma Tekchandani, section officer in the academic branch, arrived at the office wearing a T-shirt and shorts on Monday and "started creating nuisance". When other employees protested, he misbehaved with them.

Taking disciplinary action, he was suspended.

“Today, he came to the office and created a ruckus. He entered the chamber of director (academic) Rakesh Swamy and questioned why he was suspended.

“Police were informed and he was arrested for disturbing peace,” Sharma said.

While Rajasthan is battling a scorching heat wave with temperatures hovering around 48-50 degrees Celsius, Sharma said Tekchandani did not give any specific reason for coming to the office in shorts on Monday. When he came to office on Tuesday, he was wearing a shirt and trousers.

Sharma said that disciplinary action had already been taken against Tekchandani.
