Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], A curfew has been imposed in five police station areas of Jodhpur in Rajasthan after incidents of violence, including stone-pelting and arson, broke out in a locality in the city, it said the police on Saturday.

Speaking to ANI, Nishant Bhardwaj, ADCP, Jodhpur, said, "Yesterday, June 21, communal riots broke out between two communities. Stone-pelting took place and there were also attacks on the police... Using all our forces, the situation was "In Right now the situation in the area is good. "Many were arrested for throwing stones at the police and for sowing riots."

Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Jogaram Patel appealed to all communities to maintain harmony and said action will be taken against those who try to create unrest.

"Our tradition has been to live in harmony... If an anti-social element takes yesterday's incident in Soorsagar as a basis and tries to eliminate harmony, it cannot be tolerated. I urge all communities to uphold love and harmony. Yes "If anyone tries to give it a different shape, the police have taken action against them. If something like this is discovered, action has been taken against the culprits and the suspects," Patel said.

The clash took place on Friday night over a dispute over opening gates and a police force was deployed in Jodhpur's Soorsagar area to control the violence.

Section 144 was imposed in five police station areas - Pratap Nagar, Pratap Nagar Sadar, Devnagar, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and Soorsagar in Jodhpur after stone-pelting mob and DCP West issued the order.

Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel warned that strict action would be taken if anyone tried to exacerbate communal tensions in the region.

Jogaram Patel said: "Our tradition has been to live in harmony. If an anti-social element takes yesterday's incident in Soorsagar as a basis and tries to eliminate harmony, it cannot be tolerated. I urge all communities to uphold love and harmony "If anyone tries to give it a different way, the police will take further action if something similar is discovered. At this time, the area is at peace."

He urged people of all communities to maintain harmony and not fall under the influence of those trying to break out communal violence.

"Our district officials and police forces are taking all measures to control the situation. We will not allow tensions to escalate. Discussions will be held to resolve the issue.
