According to the order issued on Tuesday night, there will be power cut from 8 pm. Till 3 am in Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur discoms. However, industries like captive power plants and cold storage have been given 50 percent relaxation in these power cuts.

Officials said that this initiative has been taken in view of the increasing demand for electricity.

In June last year, the demand for electricity was 22 lakh units. This June it has increased to 35 lakh units.

Meanwhile, industrial organizations have objected and said that they will not be able to make deliveries due to prolonged power cuts.

President of Sitapura Industries Association, Nilesh Aggarwal said that actions like imposition of fuel surcharge and now power cuts are affecting the business. "Such orders will also affect investment in Rajasthan," he said.

Jagdish Somani, president of the VKI association, said, "Our orders will be delayed and we will have to pay workers without working. Now when the monsoon is approaching, issuing such an order is beyond our understanding."
