New Delhi: It remained cloudy in Delhi on Wednesday and it rained in some parts of the city, providing relief from the intense humidity that has been prevailing in the city for the last few days.

The Meteorological Department, in its notification at 3 pm, said that there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with wind speed of 40 to 60 km per hour and thunderstorm along with lightning in Delhi and NCR.

"There is no warning of heavy rain in Delhi as of now," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The IMD said its predictions are based on analysis of models and other measurements, which sometimes do not align. For example, due to the shifting of the rain belt, Delhi did not receive heavy rainfall as predicted last time.

It said the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal.

According to IMD, the sky will be cloudy throughout the day and the maximum temperature is likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level at 8:30 in the morning was 75 percent.
