The island city of Mumbai received an average of 47.93 mm rainfall in the 10-hour period ending 6 pm on Monday, while the figures for the eastern and western parts of the metropolis were 18.82 mm and 31.74 mm respectively.

"In the 24-hour period ending 8 am, the island city of Mumbai recorded 115.63 mm rainfall, East Mumbai 168.68 mm and West Mumbai 165.93 mm rainfall. 40 incidents of tree or branch falling were recorded in the city, But there were no reports of any deaths, some vehicles were damaged,'' a civic official said.
