New Delhi [India], Congress MP-elect Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam, as he promised to be the voice of students in Parliament.

He reiterated the Congress party's election promise of enacting a law to free students from paper leaks and said the party has made a 'strong plan'.

"Narendra Modi hasn't even taken oath yet and the scam in NEET exam has devastated over 24 lakh students and their families. 6 students from the same exam center top the exam with maximum marks, many Such marks are obtained which are not technically possible, but the government is continuously denying the possibility of paper leak,'' Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X.

Congress had made a strong plan to deal with this 'paper leak industry' running in collusion with the education mafia and the government machinery.In our manifesto, we had resolved to free students from paper leaks by making a law. " He added.

He further claimed that there is support from the youth in the country towards the opposition alliance, India Bloc.

Earlier on Saturday, Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal hit out at the BJP for destroying the future of students and urged the Education Ministry to conduct a detailed investigation into the irregularities of the NEET-UG exam 2024.

In a post on X, KC Venugopal said, "The BJP government has completely failed the NEET exams and ruined the future of our medical aspirants."

"First, it continued to conduct the examination despite massive opposition from many states, especially Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Now, it is clearly unable to conduct it effectively and now we are seeing paper leaks at the national level This, coupled with several irregularities, raises concerns about how the examination is being conducted.,

He further informed that to address the concerns of the students and their parents, he has written a letter to K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Ministry of Education, demanding an impartial investigation into the issue and has sought Murthy's attention regarding the complaints and concerns. . The NTA on Saturday formed a committee to review the grace marks given to NEET UG 2024 candidates amid allegations of mark inflation.

The Education Ministry set up a committee to review the grace marks given to over 1,500 candidates. Many candidates alleged that due to increase in marks, 67 candidates have secured the top rank, six of whom are from the same exam center in Haryana.
