Maharajganj (UP), Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday took a dig at the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, saying they have decided to blame electronic voting machines for their defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.

At a public meeting here in support of party candidate Pankaj Chaudhary, he claimed that the BJP has crossed the majority mark in the first five rounds of voting.

He said, "Vote counting is on June 4. In the afternoon both the 'princes' (Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav) will hold a press conference and say that we lost the election because the EVMs were faulty."

He said, “Modi has crossed 310 seats in five rounds.Rahul Baba, you will not get even 4 seats and the other 'Prince' (Akhilesh Yadav) will get only 4 seats."

He said that the opposition does not have any PM candidate and they say that in five years they will have five PMs.

"This is not a general store but a country of 130 crore people. Can such a P work?" He asked.

Taking aim at the opposition, he said that Congress leaders say that Pakistan has atom bomb but people of BJP are not afraid of atom bomb.

"Pakistan occupied Kashmir is and will remain a part of India and we will take it back," he said.

Referring to the Sahara scam, Shah claimed that it happened when the opposition was in power.He said, "Hey Akhilesh (Akhilesh Yadav), the scam happened in your government. Modi ji started the process of refund."

Sahara Group companies were accused of circumventing regulations with Ponzi schemes, allegations the group has denied.

Trying to strike a chord with the farmers, Shah said, "Today is the death anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh. Narendra Modi gave him Bharat Ratna and honored all the farmers of Uttar Pradesh.,

Shah also accused previous governments of closing sugar mills and promised that a new mega sugar mill would be constructed in Maharajganj if the BJP came to power again.

Voting will be held in Maharajganj on June 1.
