Chandigarh, Aam Aadmi Party candidate and Punjabi actor Karamjit Singh Anmol and BJP candidate Subhash Sharma on Tuesday filed their nomination papers for their respective Lok Sabha seats in Punjab.

A total of 226 nominations were filed on the last day of filing of nominations for the parliamentary elections in Punjab, where voting is scheduled for the last phase of the seven-phase election on June 1.

A total of 598 nominations have been filed since May 7.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on May 15 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 17.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Anmol filed his nomination from Faridko constituency. Before filing his nomination, Anmol, his family members and other AAP leaders offered prayers at the Godri Sahib Gurdwara.He also took out a road show from Kotkapura to Faridkot, which included actors Gippy Grewa and Binnu Dhillon, Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan. Anmol is contesting from Faridkot against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Hans Raj Hans, Congress candidate Amarjeet Kaur Sahoke and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)'s Rajvinder Singh.

Congress candidate Amar Singh and BJP's Gejja Ram Valmiki filed their nominations from Fatehgarh Sahib seat.

Sharma, BJP candidate from Anandpur Sahib, filed his nomination in Rupnaga district.

He was also accompanied by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and party leaders Kewal Singh Dhillon and Sanjeev Vashishtha.In the electoral battle, Sharma is facing Congress candidate Vijay Inder Singla, AAP's Malvinder Singh Kaan and Shiromani Akali Dal's Prem Singh Chandumajra.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) candidate Iman Singh Mann filed his nomination from Amritsar seat, while SAD(A) candidate Harpal Singh filed his nomination from Khadur Sahib.Voting for 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab will be held on June 1 and counting of votes will take place on June 4.
