New Delhi [India], Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday launched a three classroom project at the Government Senior Secondary School in Pandwala village of Mubarakpur, Dera Bassi.

Punjab Kings senior managers Ashwini Kumar and Antarpreet Singh Sahni performed the bhoomi pujan ceremony.

As part of the initiative, three classrooms will be renovated and rebuilt with new tables and benches as well as new blackboards to help educate students. The project will also establish computer labs, sports facilities, equipment and toilet blocks in schools.

As part of the project, which has been running successfully for the last two years, 31 classrooms have been constructed, which has had a direct impact on more than 34,100 students.

Speaking on the initiative, Punjab Kings CEO Satish Menon was quoted in a PBKS release as saying, “We are thrilled to continue our long-term partnership with Round Table India and provide the means of education to children across all regions of the state. Are." “We are pleased to take another step forward in this endeavor and are grateful for the continued support of our partners, allowing us to contribute to an important cause.”

Round Table India's national project 'Freedom through Education' aims to provide education to underprivileged children since 1998. Since its inception, the program has constructed over 7,500 classrooms with over 3100 projects with an investment of over Rs 336 crore.
