Organized by RoundGlass in association with Hockey Punjab, the league aims to provide valuable match experience to grassroots players, promoting their professional and personal development.

The matches are scheduled to be held at major venues such as Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar, Balbir Singh Sr. International Hockey Stadium in Mohali, Olympian Prithvi Pal Singh Hockey Stadium in Ludhiana and Namdhari Hockey Stadium, Jeevan Nagar. Each match will be played in the Indian National Hockey League ( Organized by IHL). By one of the participating teams.

The inaugural match of the league will be played between Surjeet Hockey Academy PIS, Jalandhar and Namdhari Sports Academy at Olympian Surjeet Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar, followed by SGPC Hockey Academy, Amritsar vs PIS Mohali. PIS Ludhiana and RoundGlass Hockey Academy are the other two teams participating in the league.

The matches will be played during the weekend and will run till August 25, with the final league match between RoundGlass Hockey Academy and Surjit Hockey Academy PIS Jalandhar. There will be a pool of 25 players in each team.

The league will have a prize pool of Rs 5.5 lakh which is one of the highest for a junior hockey league.

Sharing his views on the Punjab Hockey League, Dronacharya Awardee, Olympic Gold Medalist and Technical Head, RoundGlass Hockey Academy, Rajinder Singh said, “The experience of competitive matches is very important for the development of young players and the Junior Punjab Hockey League provides this Its objective is to do this for the participants. The league format will help the coaches to experiment with different strategies as each team is assured of playing 10 matches.
