"The SIT of Punjab Police has informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court that the viral interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in 2023 was actually conducted within Punjab, as we have been claiming since the interview was aired. However, Both the Punjab Police and the AAP government repeatedly denied this and insisted that the interview had not taken place within the state."
"Not only was the interview conducted in Punjab, but it was also conducted within the confines of a Punjab jail. This highlights the influence a criminal like Lawrence Bishnoi has over the administration and government, which enabled him to carry out such activities. It is shameful to see such power in the hands of criminals.” Waring said in a statement.
"It is disappointing that a respected officer like DGP Gaurav Yadav has been induced by the government to claim that the interview did not take place in Punjab. I have raised this issue several times and will continue to do so. How can such an interview take place in Punjab? Jail? I now demand an explanation from the Chief Minister, who had earlier rejected our allegations and confidently stated that such an interview from inside a Punjab Police jail was impossible."
"How can justice be delivered to Sidhu Moosewala and his family, when the Punjab government appears to be in cahoots with a criminal like Lawrence Bishnoi? Bishnoi appears to be enjoying immunity, preferential treatment even within the prison walls. This raises serious concerns about the integrity of the administration,” the state Congress chief said.
