Amritsar (Punjab) [India], The Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a Pakistani drone on the outskirts of Ghoga village in Punjab's Amritsar district, an official statement said.

According to an official BSF release, the flying object was an assembled hexacopter, which was recovered in a broken condition.

The release said, "Vigilant BSF troops intercepted a suspicious flying object on the night of June 7 and rapidly monitored its movements to estimate its dropping zone. Subsequently, the dropping zone was cordoned off and A massive search operation was conducted by BSF troops." ,

"During search of the suspected dropping area, at around 5.20 am, alert troops successfully recovered a hexacopter from the outskirts of Ghoga village in Amritsar district," it said.

According to the release, prompt and alert action of BSF troops has once again foiled illegal drone infiltration from across the border.

Earlier, a Bangladeshi national was arrested for attempting to cross the border illegally in Baruakandi village of Dharmanagar in Tripura North on Wednesday night, the BSF said.

According to reports, accused Azim Uddin is originally from Sylhet, Bangladesh.

Despite holding a French passport and visa, Azim Uddin did not have the necessary documents to legally travel from India to Bangladesh.

As a result, he attempted to cross the border illegally at Gaurakandi near Dharmanagar by paying a sum of fifteen hundred rupees to broker Islam Uddin.

However, Azim Uddin was captured by the 139th Battalion of the BSF while trying to cross into Bangladesh. Both Azim Uddin and Dalal Islam Uddin were handed over to Dharmanagar Police by BSF.
