Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inducted Sampla, popular among the youth and a close relative of former Union Minister Vijay Sampla, into the party.
Jalandhar (Central) MLA Raman Arora was also present.
With Sampla's support, AAP will be stronger in Jalandhar, where the party has fielded Pawan Kumar Tinu.
After joining AAP, Sampla said that this is a party which stands with its workers and volunteers. "AAP is a party of the common people, the poor and the Dalits. We have seen that the Mann government is working for every section of Punja without any discrimination."
