Pune: The regional transport office has started the process of canceling the temporary registration of the Porsche car that allegedly crushed two techies driven by a 17-year-old boy in Pune, an official said on Thursday. Gave.

The electric luxury sports sedan – Porsche Taycan – was imported by the dealer in Bengaluru in March before being sent to Maharashtra on temporary registration.

When the car was taken to Pune RTO, it was discovered that a certain registration fee had not been paid. The owner was asked to pay the amount to complete the paperwork. Officials had earlier said that since the fee had not been paid, the permanent registration of the vehicle was pending.

The high-end car, allegedly driven by the teenage son of real estate developer Vishal Aggarwal, who police claim was drunk, hit two software in the city's Kalyani Nagar in the early hours of Sunday. The engineers were hit, killing both of them.

While the boy has been sent to an observation home till June 5, his father is in police custody till May 24.

“The Motor Vehicles Act provides that if there is an accident in which a minor is driving a car, the registration certificate can be canceled for 12 months. We have now started the process of canceling the temporary registration of the car and a notice to this effect has been issued to the registered owner of the car,” said RTO officer Sanjeev Bhor.

He said the car was allotted temporary registration as it was brought to Pune from Bengaluru. “However, driving a car on the road without a prop registration number is an offence,” he said.

After the accident, the police has confiscated the luxury car.
