Pune: On the orders of the Pune district collectorate, the Maharashtra Excise Department on Tuesday sealed two restaurants where liquor was allegedly served to a 17-year-old boy involved in a fatal car accident, the local administration said.

A Porsche car, allegedly driven by a 17-year-old man, who police claim was drunk at the time, hit two software engineers riding a motorcycle in Kalyani Nagar in Pune city early Sunday. trodden on.

According to the police, on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, the accused teenager along with his friends went to two establishments between 9.30 pm and 1 am and allegedly consumed alcohol.

Following the order of the District Collectorate, two outlets Kosi Restaurant and Hotel Black Club were sealed.

Kosi is located in Koregaon Park adjacent to Kalyani Nagar, while Black Club is in Mundwa.

"Following the orders of District Collector Suhas Diwase, the State Excise Department has sealed Kosi Restaurant and Black Club at Marriott Suite with immediate effect," a statement from the district administration said.

A special inspection drive has been launched by the excise department to ensure that pubs and restaurants holding licenses do not serve liquor to underage customers after the 1.30 pm deadline, the statement said.

If any violation is found, cases will be registered against such establishments and their licenses will be cancelled.”
