Pune: A Pune court on Monday extended till June 14 the police custody of the parents of a 17-year-old boy allegedly involved in the fatal Porsche car accident and another accused in a case related to destruction of evidence.

Kishore's father, realtor Vishal Agarwal, and mother Shivani were arrested for their suspicious role in swapping the blood samples of Kishore, who was allegedly drunk at the time of the accident in Kalyani Nagar on May 19, in which two People had lost their lives. motorbike-born IT professional.

Shivani Agarwal was arrested on June 1 after it was revealed that the boy's blood samples were replaced with her own blood samples. Her husband Vishal Aggarwal was arrested for his alleged involvement in destroying evidence.

Apart from the Agarwal couple, Ashpak Makander, who worked as a middleman between them and doctors at the government-run Sassoon Hospital, where the blood samples were collected, was produced in the court on Monday.

The prosecution sought extension of police custody of the trio, arguing that they wanted to find out where the teen's blood samples were disposed of.

It told the court that Rs 4 lakh was paid to middleman Makander by the driver of the girl's father. Out of this, Rs 3 lakh was given (to Sassoon doctors) to replace the blood sample of the teenager.

"Rs 3 lakh have been recovered from Dr Srihari Halnor and Sassoon Hospital employee Atul Ghatkamble and we need to recover the remaining Rs 1 lakh," the investigating officer said.

Defense lawyer Prashant Patil opposed the custody extension plea of ​​the teen's parents, saying they had already spent several days in police remand and there was no need for their further custodial interrogation.

The minor boy has been sent to an observation home.
