Pune, Pune Police has filed an application before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) seeking extension by 14 days of the remand of a 17-year-old boy allegedly involved in a car accident in which two people lost their lives, an official. Gave this information on Wednesday.

The remand of the juvenile lodged in an observation home here is ending on Wednesday.

"We have filed an application before the JJB seeking extension of his custody in the observation home by 14 days," said a Pune crime branch official.

The petition of Pune Police is to be heard before JJB on Wednesday.

Two IT professionals were killed in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar in Maharashtra's Pune city when a Porsche, reportedly driven by a teenager, hit their two-wheeler. Police claim that the teenager was under the influence of alcohol at that time.

JJB had granted bail to Kishore, son of a real estate developer, hours after the incident and asked him to write a 300-word essay on road safety.

After strong criticism, the police again approached the JJB, which amended the order and sent the accused juvenile to the observation home till June 5.

Police have already arrested the teenager's father, mother, two doctors and another employee of the government-run Sassoon General Hospital for allegedly swapping his blood samples with his mother's.

The teenager's grandfather has also been arrested in a case related to the incident.

Police arrested two more people on Tuesday for allegedly acting as middlemen and facilitating financial transactions between the accused doctors and the teen's father.
