ISLAMABAD: A provincial minister from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party on Tuesday congratulated the winners of the general elections in India and said the results could bring progress and prosperity in the region.

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari, who is a leader of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's party, said, "Pakistan congratulates the people of India and the winners of the elections and hopes that its results (the new government) will bring peace, progress in the subcontinent.
