Palghar: Police have imposed prohibitory orders at various picnic spots in Vasai area of ​​Palghar district of Maharashtra for the safety of tourists during the monsoon season. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.

During the rainy season, a large number of people gather on the beaches, waterfalls, dams, rivers and lakes in Palghar and neighboring districts of Thane, Raigad and Mumbai in Maharashtra.

According to the order issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone II, Vasai, Purnima Chowgule-Shringi on Tuesday, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) will be in force from June 25 to July 8 on various water bodies.

"These measures were required to prevent financial loss due to the prevailing monsoon conditions and to reduce the risk to lives of tourists," the order said.

It bans gatherings of five or more persons, visiting water bodies, accessing springs or sitting in water flows, visiting dangerous places, taking selfies or making reels and parking vehicles at dangerous places.

The order has also been ordered to stop noise pollution and any kind of harassment like molestation of women in the surrounding area.

According to the order, "These measures will be implemented within approximately 1 km of the prohibited areas."

Authorities have appealed to people to follow these restrictions for their own safety and the well-being of others during the current monsoon period.
