Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday concluded his 45-hour long meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial here and paid tribute to Tamil saint poet Thiruvalluvar.

At the conclusion of his meditation session, Modi, dressed in white, visited the 133-F statue of Thiruvalluvar located next to the rock monument and placed a garland there, paying his respects. He reached the statue complex by ferry service and later reached the shore using the service.

During his stay at the memorial, the PM meditated and also offered 'Surya Arghya' at sunrise, a ritual associated with spiritual practice.

When Modi was engrossed in meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, he was wearing saffron clothes.

Kanyakumari is famous for its sunrise and sunset and this monument is situated on a small island near the coastline.

The Prime Minister began his 45-hour meditation at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the evening of May 30 and completed it on Saturday.
