On the second day of her visit to Madhya Pradesh, the President is scheduled to visit the Mahakaleshwar temple to offer prayers to Lord Shiva. She will be accompanied by Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

After visiting the Shri Mahakaleshwar temple, President Murmu will do Shramdaan on the temple premises under the Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada. She will also visit Shri Mahakal Lok and interact with the artisans working there. She will distribute certificates to the Swachhata Mitras and will also address the Safai Mitra Sammelan.

The President will practically lay the first stone of a six-lane highway. The 46 km long highway project worth Rs 1,692 crore connects the two big cities of the state. After laying the foundation, she will return to Indore to attend the convocation of Devi Ahilya University.

The six-lane highway project is also part of the MP government's preparation for Simhastha Mela 2028.

Since a large number of visitors would land at Indore airport and head to Ujjain for Simhastha Mela, road connectivity between these two cities would be crucial. Apart from this, the MP government has also been working to strengthen rail connectivity.

In a review meeting last week, CM Yadav said that 'Simhastha' is the responsibility of Ujjain and Indore divisions. Several devotees who visit the Simhastha of Ujjain also visit Omkareshwar. Therefore, it is necessary to address connectivity between these two cities as a priority.

The month-long Simhastha (Kumbh) mela, the largest congregation of Hindus held once in 12 years in the religious city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, will witness a large number of devotees.

On her first day visit to Indore on Wednesday, the President met tribal artists at Mriganayani Emporium and asked them to continue their traditional art forms.

The President stressed the importance of preserving ancient culture and tradition.
