Bengaluru: Suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, facing allegations of sexual harassment by several women, was trailing by a margin of 17,108 votes in Karnataka's Hassan Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday.
His nearest rival Shreyas Patel of Congress is leading in the constituency.
According to the latest data available with the Election Commission, 33-year-old Revanna has got 4,29,980 votes, while Patel has got 4,47,088 votes.
Revanna, grandson of JD(S) patriarch HD Deve Gowda, had contested the election as an NDA candidate. As soon as allegations of sexual harassment of women emerged against Hasan after Hasan went to the polls on April 26, JD(S) suspended him from the party.
He is currently in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is investigating the cases.
