New Delhi: State-owned Power Grid Corporation's board on Wednesday approved a proposal to increase the borrowing limit for 2024-25 from Rs 12,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore through various instruments.

The board has also fixed the borrowing limit for 2025-26 at Rs 16,000 crore.

The Board of Directors of Power Grid in its meeting held on July 10, 2024 has given the following approval to borrow funds up to Rs 16,000 crore through various sources including domestic bonds (secured) during the financial year (FY) 2025-26 /Unsecured, non-convertible, non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable/tax-free under private placement), the BSE filing said.

The Board has increased the current borrowing limit by issuing secured/unsecured, non-convertible, non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable/tax-free bonds during the financial year 2024-25 from the existing Rs 12,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore. Private placement from domestic/other sources.

It added that the above approval of the agenda by the Board of Directors is subject to the approval of the shareholders in the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
