New Delhi [India], Heavy rain on Friday morning brought relief from the heat, but it also wreaked havoc on the city. Potters in the Paharganj area suffered considerable losses as their clay products were washed away or damaged due to the rains.

Lakshmi Devi, a 70-year-old potter who has been selling clay products for over 30 years, told ANI that she suffered huge losses when her products broke and were washed away at night.

She said that she is unable to estimate the loss and will not be able to compensate for it.

"There is no estimate of how much loss we suffered... We could not achieve anything... This is the first time this has happened. What can we do? We did not know this would happen today... I am 70. year and I have been selling it for the last 30-40 years…but we have never suffered such a loss…our products broke and washed away overnight…we will not be able to recover this loss,” he said. Told ANI.

Another potter, Moti Lal, estimated his loss to be thousands of rupees.
