Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and member of the four-member committee formed to investigate the post-poll violence in West Bengal, Ravi Shankar Prasad fiercely targeted the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The government on Monday alleged that a Scheduled Caste woman was raped by a TMC worker and no FIR was registered against him.
"People of Cooch Behar were beaten up. Women and children were abused. But the most disturbing incident is that a TMC worker attempted to rape a woman belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC).Her clothes were torn and she was molested in the village. He also identified the TMC worker, but no FIR was registered against that person. The woman told us everything, we would not like to reveal her identity.
He said that injustice is being done to a daughter under Mamata Banerjee's rule in West Bengal.

Following the announcement of Lok Sabha 2024 results, incidents of post-poll violence were reported from several parts of West Bengal, where BJP workers were reportedly beaten up and their offices vandalized.
Earlier today, BJP's fact-finding committee met the injured admitted in a hospital in Cooch Behar.
BJP leaders were captured while talking to the injured.
Ravi Shankar Prasad wrote in a post on 'X', "I met many injured people in Cooch Behar hospital, who were attacked by Trinamool supporters. The SC activist was treated in the height of inhumanity, she was admitted to the hospital in an injured condition and she tearfully told us about her condition.We are not revealing his name for the sake of dignity of his personality, this is your government, will you feel some shame?”
