Itanagar, Popular Arunachal vlogger Roopchi Taku, known as 'Pookumon' in the digital world, died at the age of 26 after falling from the fourth floor of her rented accommodation on Thursday evening, police said.
Capital Superintendent of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh said Taku was taken to RK Mission Hospital but he died.
He said the authorities have registered a case of unnatural death under section 196 BNSS and have assigned sub-inspector Inya Tato to conduct a thorough investigation.
“No foul play is suspected and the incident appears to be accidental,” Singh said.
Initial reports suggest that Taku, who was visually impaired and relied heavily on glasses, may have accidentally fallen from the balcony.
Known for her engaging content on YouTube under the channel 'Pookumon', Taku has garnered a significant following, especially among the youth of Arunachal Pradesh and beyond.
