Indian Air Force Corporal Vicky Pahade was killed and four other soldiers were injured in a terrorist attack on two Indian Air Force vehicles at Bakrabal (Sanai) in Surankot tehsil of Poonch.
"These are all stunts and not terrorist attacks. There is no truth in it. The BJP is playing with people's lives and dead bodies," Channi said during election campaigning in Jalandhar.
Pointing to the 2019 Pulwama attack, he said, "These attacks are not actually happening but are meant to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party... Whenever elections are held, such stunts are played, as It happened last time." Force (CRPF) soldiers were martyred.
Saturday's attack in Poonch came weeks before the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency goes to polls on May 25.
